On September 16th we launched Spacefy and celebrated with our friends, investors, and local businesses on King West. One of the things we’ve always believed here at Spacefy is that any space can be a creative space. With that in mind we decided to put it into practice and found a simple alleyway that would set the stage for our party. With the help of celebrity designer Caspar Haydar, we turned it into a lively venue for an open air cocktail party. With this regular alleyway now turned into Spacefy Alley, happy hour was in full swing with cheap drinks, friendly faces, and a fun photo booth.
The photo booth we had wasn't just a regular photo booth, it was a GIF photo booth where partygoers were able to take hilarious shots at our various locations with fun custom-made props from Pristine Paper Co. There were some staged fights at Black Devil MMA, dance class at the Ernest Balmer Studio, piano concerts at the theatre of Alliance Française and recording sessions at Phase One. Just check out some of the fun below!
The evening also saw the launch of our Space Program, an initiative to help more connect artists with more creative spaces in the city. If you know a space that should be in movies, would be perfect for a dance class, or could be used as a pop up art gallery, register your interest in the Space Program here!
After a bit of mixing and mingling, we invited the media and VIPs downstairs for a chance to meet our team and learn more about the platform we've been working on for months. Musideum's Roger Sader continued with the theme of "any space being a creative space" with a pop up concert in the corner. We showcased our one shot promotional video which features transforming a single space into a photography studio, yoga class, dance class, film audition, and band practice. Check it out below!
